Mr Fatoberu is a Chartered Procurement Specialist and an Environmental Scientist. He graduated from the chartered Institute Of Purchasing and supply, London in 1977 and was elected a corporate member that same year. He has MBA (Financial Management), and MSc Environmental Resources Management (specializing in Applied Environmental Economics, Pollution Control and Sustainable Urban Development) from the Lagos State University. He was also a study fellow of the prestigious Crown Agents Materials Management Training Centre, Worthing, West Sussex, UK. He is also a member of the British Institute of Management (London),and Institute of Materials Handling, Cranfield, UK. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management, Nigeria.
He started his professional career at the Water corporation of the old Oyo State before proceeding to the National Horticultural Research Institute,(NIHORT), Ibadan a UNDP/FAO supported programme as the pioneer Procurement Officer(Scientific). He also lectured at the Polytechnic Ibadan as a pioneer lecturer in Purchasing and Supply between 1980 and 1983 and also between 1991/1993 when he served as lecturer/Course Coordinator, HND, Purchasing & Supply programme.
He worked at Guinness Nig. Plc as Stores Controller from 1983/1986 and as a Principal Consultant Training and Development with Stockwell Associates before joining Lagos State Water Corporation a World Bank assisted project, in 1993 where he served in various capacities including Supplies and Logistics, Finance Manager, Controller Corporate Planning, Head, LWC Power Generation Company, Head Monitoring & Investigation in the Regulatory Department, and Team Leader, Environment & Social Safeguards in the World Bank, Project Implementation Unit.
He was also member, Inter-ministerial Committee on Lagos State Environmental Impact Assessment Law(2009),member, Committee on Lagos State Water Sector Law and Road Map on Concession/Privatization of Water Supply in Lekki Phase 1.He prepared the Position Paper on alternative Energy for mini Waterworks.
He joined the services of the Osun State Government in 2010 as Director (Supply Project) in the defunct Bureau of Public Procurement where he developed the Price Database for the procurement of goods, and also served as Member State Planning Committee for the Maiden Climate Change Conference.
He is now deployed to the Bureau of Social Services (BOSS), Governor's Office where he is Assistant Team Leader, YESSO .
He has also served as a Consultant to the UNDP on Environmental mainstreaming into NEEDS/SEEDS and the Niger Delta Master Plan, UN Observer to Katsina State on SEEDS Benchmarking, Consultant on the UNDP, 6th Country (2005) Annual Programme Review Report.
Mr Fatoberu has attended many courses on Institutional Development, Environmental & Social Safeguards, Health & Safety, Total Quality Management and Change management.
