Osun Public Workfare Enrolls 1,247 Beneficiaries (BATCH 2)
The public works component of Youth Employment and Social Support Operations has commenced verification and validation of selected beneficiaries for 2nd batch of PWF across the Local Government Areas covered in the First, Second, Third and Fourth phases of the community-based targeting (CBT).
The beneficiaries will be deployed to identified sub-projects across their communities. Subsequently, each beneficiary collects the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N7,500) at end of the month. The sub-projects include cutting of grass verges on roads and footpaths in the communities, proper waste disposal and filling of potholes.
The objective of the public workfare program is to provide immediate labor-intensive work opportunities for unskilled youth from poor households. Public workfare focusses on poor, unskilled youth (ages 18-35) and women as major beneficiaries who, upon selection, mobilization, and participation in public works at State/LGA/wards/communities, will receive N7, 500 monthly stipends.
