Expanding Job opportunities for Youths in Agriculture through collaboration: A case of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES).

Micro-Veg is a project that promote indigenous vegetables and funded by Canadian IDRC - International Development Research Centre and CIDA -Canadian International Development Agency. Without any financial obligations from the State Government of Osun Micro-Veg has supported Oyes with farming equipment and high yield seeds of indigenous vegetables such as Ewedu, Tete abalaye, Woorowo and Gbaagba and Ugwu. The Training of Trainers (ToT) on the cultivation of the indigenous vegetable took place on the 1st of November, 2016.

According to Col. Oyewole (Commandate, Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (Oyes)) the partnership is wholly sponsored by Micro-Veg and its partners. He acknowledged the vision of the Governor, State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola whose policy restructuring on MDA in the State led to the movement of OYES to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Youth Engagement. As a result OYES Management Committee now engages the cadets in agro-business enterprises.
